| Ta da! |
My first successful attempt at baking. The last time I baked the rice cooker chocolate, although it tasted ok but the texture came out wrong; it became like a kueh instead of a cake. I tried twice some more, undeniable disappointment. My neighbour told me that it was uncooked. See! Knew there must be something wrong. That's the thing about rice cooker cake, because I don't know how to control the duration. N the trouble I faced was that, online info mentioned that you are not supposed to keep opening the rice cooker before the cake is up, and bearing in my mind you are using a rice cooker, there's no way you can see the side of your cake. So you see! Then hoooooooowww? After having a successful attempt from using my Microwave oven, I will stick to this instead.
This, I had the help of my neighbour whose baking skill is like a Bakery Lao Ban Niang - that's what I told her. So she watched over me while I beat the sugar and the butter. The time to beat the butter batter felt like forever. After it's done, 4 eggs, vanilla essence and baking powder was added. After mixing everything together, I used a spoon to fill up the cup cake sleeves and then pop them into my 'oven'. After few minutes the cup cakes started to rise up. I opened the oven a few times, cause the original 20mins set wasn't enough to cook the cup cake.
After some time viola it's done!!!!!!!!!!! There's this joy that I felt when the cup cake turned out fine. It's a baking orgasm if you wana coin it.
Come the next day, my neighbour commented that it was very dry. So it's either the oven or the cake flour that caused it. Oh yes it was abit dry when I was eating it for breakfast, but that didn't destroy the baking-orgasm that I experienced. So I told her, maybe I am a noob at baking, my expectation wasn't that high. To me, as long as it turned out to be like a CAKE and my hub like it, I am a happy woman.
Oh well, I shall keep at it. First at baking and this is the start!!
